An autism assessment involves assessing for social-communication differences and restricted/repetitive behaviours, in order to determine whether one's presentation is consistent with autism. We offer formal autism assessments for children and adolescents aged 3-16.

  • Determining whether or not an individual meets criteria for Autism

  • Greater awareness, understanding and insight for individuals and their support system 

  • Accessing extra support at school such as classroom adjustments and exam provisions

  • Accessing intervention programs and support groups 

  • Accessing government funding (e.g., NDIS funding, Centrelink Carer’s Allowance)

General process

Autism Assessment

Child/Teen Appointment

The child/teen component (ADOS-2) is a play-based and/or semi-structured interview designed to assess social-communication differences and restricted/ repetitive behaviours.​​

Duration: 1-1.5hr appt​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Parent/Carer Appointments

The parent/carer component (ADI-R) is completed over 3x 1hr appts.

Review of previous reports â€‹

Happy Kids

Feedback Session

It typically takes 2-3 weeks to finalise the report before meeting for the feedback session to discuss the results and recommendations going forward.
