Fees & Rebates
Fees
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends standard consultation fees for psychologists. Our fees are below this guideline. Please contact us for a copy of our current fee schedule.
Rebates
Medicare
With a valid doctor's referral, obtained from a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician, you are entitled to claim a medicare rebate of $93.35 - $137.05 (or up to 80% of the scheduled fee if you have reached the "medicare safety net threshold") for 10 sessions per calendar year.
Private Health
Depending on your provider and policy, you may be able to claim a partial rebate for your appointment. Please contact your provider to confirm. Medicare and private health rebates cannot be claimed concurrently.
NDIS Funding
We support self- and third-party managed NDIS funding.

Cancellation Policy
Our clinic’s booking system is set to send an SMS reminder three days before your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice to the practice and/or your clinician before the scheduled appointment time.
If you cannot make your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible by calling the practice 0400 662 649 or emailing us at admin@youthandbeyondpsychology.com.au
Unfortunately, if you provide less than 48 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment, a fee of $100 will apply. Further, if you do not attend your scheduled appointment (No-Show Appointment) without providing prior notice, the full consultation fee will apply.
Please note that the cancellation fee does not attract any medicare or private health benefits.
We understand that illness and emergencies sometimes occur and are beyond your control. If you are unwell and cannot make your appointment, please contact the practice or your clinician as soon as possible. Depending on how much notice is given and your specific circumstance, the cancellation fee may be reduced at our discretion.
In the event of a genuine emergency, we will waive the cancellation fee.
For clarity, the following are considered examples of emergencies:
-
Hospitalisation
-
Car accident
-
Robbery or assault
-
Death of a relative
Unfortunately, the following are not considered emergency reasons:
-
A meeting for work or school
-
Sports or extracurricular event
-
Family activity or holiday
-
Exhaustion of your current referral/Mental Health Care Plan
As frustrating as it is to pay a cancellation fee, we genuinely don’t like enforcing it. The reason for having a 48-hour cancellation policy is because:
-
We are generally unable to fill appointment spaces that are cancelled at short notice
-
Our psychologists put a lot of time and care into session planning and preparation
-
Rescheduling appointments tie up future appointments, minimising availability for others
-
To be fair to other clients who would have taken up the appointment time instead.
-
To reduce income loss as a direct result of late cancellation and non-attendance. As we are not a government agency, our psychologists lose income if a client does not attend.
-
There are substantial overhead costs associated with booking your appointment and reserving a room.
